Amongst Taveuni island's wild profusion of natural beauty, and tucked away on a gently sloping hill is Maravu Plantation Resort. Taveuni is know as the Garden Isle of Fiji, with volcanic mountains peaking at 120 metres with lush rain forests and majestic waterfalls. The island is alive with rare birds and exotic flowers. Guests are welcomed and within a few minutes the Maravu magic begins, Maravu is a 54 acre plantation resort with ten large bures facing the tropical sunsets. Three are honeymoon bures with private outdoor showers, sun deck and verandah. Our seven deluxe bures can accommodate up to four persons. Amenities include a large tiled bathroom and a secluded verandah. All bures have a ceiling fan, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facility. The bures are well appointed to ensure privacy. Room service, housekeeping and laundry service are available daily. Maravu is a Fijian word meaning calm and tranquil. For our guests Maravu takes on additional meanings: Lush tropical gardens, 12 metre pool, hilltop sunset garden and panoramic views of Matei, Somosomo Straights and neighboring islands. In 2003, Maravu completed a new gym and four new Honeymoon Suites, each of which has its own very individual and private outside spa. The Honeymoon Bures have been totally refurbished and Jacuzzi plunge pools have been added to the private, stone wall surrounded courtyards.
